When A Seed Grows.

My wise niece once said to me.."Auntie Aeron, you know why it is so windy in the spring?"..
"Why Emma?"...I ask.
"The wind blows the seeds and that makes the flowers grow!"

It made me realize the windy weather is important...in our own lives.
The wind God allows to blow us about in tough times indeed makes us grow.
It pushes us down to the Earth,
on our knees we fall,
the seeds of tears seeping into the ground.
But when the seeds are properly nourished,
and we allow the sun to shine down on us..
We emerge,
from the dirt.
We blossom,
and grow into something beautiful,
a flower.
It just took a little bit of wind.

And not all flowers are alike,
we have daffodils, sunflowers, lilies, and roses.
All with their own unique beauty..
And all made beautiful in the image of God.

Matthew 13:8
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop- a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

A Weekend To Capture.

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend!
It was the bright side of life the past few days.
I finally got a new camera, a good ol' Canon XSI.
I am definitely an amateur, but here are some of my first shots as a photographer.
My two adorable nieces were the perfect models to test the cam out.
I'm am super pumped to freeze frame time..
and catch a lot of great memories.
I have a new found hero.
I watched '42' last night, the true story of Jackie Robinson, first African American to play in the Majors.
It was one of the most incredible movies.
The movie was a lot about strength..
and the endurance God gives us to persevere through the most difficult trials.
Hats off to Jackie, for being such an example of that.
So if you have been contemplating seeing it, I'm telling you to go watch it!
Here is a picture of my own little Jackie Robinson.

It Counts.

I stole this neat idea for a post from my sweet friend,
Casey Leigh over at
You must check out her blog, she is one of the sweetest and most beautiful friends I have made through blogging. She has a way with words and her story is very inspiring.

Twenty-Three. Years I have been blessed to live.
Two.  Lucky amount of sisters I have.
Five. Days I've ran this week.
Eight. Pieces of jewelry I'm wearing.
Three. Times I've indulged in chocolate this week.
Fifty-Five. Days left until I go on my mission trip to St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands)!
Countless. Moments I remind myself I am loved beyond my worth.

Luke 12:7
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

The Missing Camera.

I have been devestatingly disappointed in humanity the past week.
I need to first state my worries and trouble are nothing compared to those in Boston or West Texas,
and that I am blessed for.
My heart goes out to all the families!

I just wanted to let you know there will not be many pretty little pictures on my blog for about a week or more.
Why, you make ask?

I had a series of unfortunate events on ebay.
Here's what happened in a nut shell.

1. Girl saves for camera.
..saves and saves..
2. Girl searches for camera...
             ..searches and searches...
3. She finally decides on camera.
4. Girl then researches seller.
5. Seller seems trustworthy.
6. Girl purchases camera.
7. Girl sends money on its way.
8. Girl waits for camera..
...waits and waits..
9. Girl emails guy about camera not arriving.
10. Girl waits for reply.
...waits and waits..
11. Girl wonders why boy does not reply.
..wondering..
12. Girl opens case.
13. Seller finally responds.
14. Seller lies and says no payment was sent.
15. Girl is shocked..
...and disappointed in him.
16. Girl tells ebay payment was sent and sends proof.
17. Ebay decides the case in Seller's favor.
18. Girl is shocked again.
19. Girl calls Ebay.
..long story short I was happily refunded my money.
Whew!
Happy ending, right?
Ope, forgot..
20.
Girl is still without camera.

So lesson learned.
This advice I leave you with...
Don't buy anything over $100 on ebay, unless you are a-ok with losing it!
It is very scary.
Trust me.

'Emma Time' is my Favorite Time.

I cannot get over this cutie, she is precious!
Emma Grace never fails to melt my heart with the sweetest little grin,
surrounded by those round cheeks you just want to pinch.
I can't help but squeeze the heck out of her everytime I am near this niece of mine.

Every girl deserves a niece.
(I am blessed to have two.)

So today, I thank God for one of the greatest joys in my life.
I thank Him for the memories I have made & continue to make with her.
I thank Him for choosing me to be her aunt.
I thank Him blessing me beyond measures for her laughter in my life.
I thank Him for showing me what true love is, by having her in my world.
I thank Him because I do not deserve this gift.
I thank Him for Emma.

Funnn Little Friday

I want to end this week on a happy note.
Nothing makes me happier than a little shopping.
So here is a little FYI for ya, I love to shop til I drop!
I feel sorry for my future husband, haha.

When we were in Albuquerque last weekend we went to my favorite shop..
Anthropologie!
I could do damage there...
Unfortunately, I have wine taste on a beer budge {metaphorically speaking}.

Also, I left a little funny video at the bottom to start your weekend off with.
It's my favorite.
Happy weekend y'all!

And Then I Saw The Light

I didn't even realize I was living in darkness.
It felt perfectly normal.
Until I saw the light.
Everything around me changed.
I discovered the truth.
Life had meaning.

The first time I went to New Mexico, was the most difficult season in my life.
I had just endured some pretty tough news.
News I am still not comfortable sharing, but in due time.
I will tell you
it is a week that forever will be engrained in my mind.
And
I am thankful for that season.
It was stormy weather and the waters were rough.
But He was there with me, through it all.
He made the waters still.
He turned my darkness into light.
And to Him I am forever grateful.

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

Land of Enchantment

On a lighter note from yesterday's post, my New Mexico was amazing this weekend!
Sometimes I need to just recharge by spending quality time with my family.
Family means the world to me and they are my rock.
I hate having family live so far away.
It is when I wish I possessed super power's..
Or like Jeannie, on I Dream Of Jeannie, just nod my head with my arms crossed and BAM!
I can appear anywhere I wish!

This is the view of Albuquerque's mountains..
My heaven will definitely include these.
We did a little shopping Saturday in Old Town, a neat little square full of old antique shops.
It was enchanting, just like the NM state motto says.

These photos remind me of a scene from Romeo and Juliet.
Juliet, looking off, daydreaming of her Romeo...
One day we drove up to Colorado to watch my younger cousin play ball.
Be sure and remember that face, he will be in the MLB in no time.
Look at the Rockies. Just incredible!
Makes me think of my favorite movie, Dumb & Dumber.
"You had an extra pair of gloves this whole time?!"
.."Harry, it's the Rockies!"
I thank God for a beautiful weekend, with my wonderful family!
And the opportunity to see more of His magnificent canvas.
