Life is Sweet.

I cannot imagine how much I am going to spoil my own kids one day,
as much as I enjoy spoiling these two cuties below.

I took them to get frozen yogurt at Sweet Frogs..
and of course I let my one year old niece get her own!
She got it all down the front of her face and clothes, and it was adorable.
I'm sure some folks around me thought I was crazy for taking pictures while I watched
her make a mess, but I didn't care!
How could you not want to capture this moment!

These two remind me of how sweet life really is!
..just like frozen yogurt,
It can get a little messy at times,
and
Not every flavor is my cup of tea,
some a little sweeter than others,
but with the right toppings,
simply wonderful.

Oh, before I forget!...Go Spurs Go!
My S.A. Spurs are up in the NBA Western Conference Finals!
Yay!

I hope everyone has an amazing Memorial Day weekend!
And a huge thanks to all the Veterans out there, and some that I am blessed to call friends!

Rainbows and Faith.

The one thing I can say that I love more than the rain, the rainbow that usually follows...
A comforting promise from God.
...
My niece, who some of you have probably come to know through this blog, is pretty smart.
Emma took me outside Sunday afternoon and asked to turn on the hose.
I preceded with caution, standing a good ways behind her aim of fire.
As the water sprayed she informed me she was going to make a rainbow.
I had little faith and laughed, 'okay'.
To my amazement, that little cutie did it!
What was even better? Her telling me how she did it..
...
"Auntie Aeron, all you need is a little bit of sun, a little bit of shade, and water!"
...
I could not believe she created such a collection of beautiful colors.
What a lack of faith I had!
Let us just say,
if I was Peter, I would have fallen too if Jesus asked me to walk on water.
...
So, the lesson is simple, have more faith..
Because God's promises are glorious to behold, just like a rainbow.

Rainy Day in Oklahoma.

My heart is so heavy today.
I am thinking of you, Oklahoma.
The rain pours down on my heart.
I cannot comprehend how devastating it is to lose a child, mother, father, brother, sister..

And then I reminded of how blessed I am to still have my family with me.
The moments I never want to lose...

I think of the sweet smile on Aubrey's face that lights up a room, that I could not imagine life without.

Or how I take in the smell of my Emma Grace after a long bubble bath, as I wrap her in a towel and hold her close.

The view of my two younger cousins as they take off to the lake, and the warm feeling of joy it gives me.

Watching my niece as she dreams..

The giggles laying on the blanket, that sing a melody in my soul.

The power she has to make me melt with her smile.

Seeing her fly across the yard.. as she flies away with my heart.

Never do I want to take any of these precious moments for granted.
Hug your loved ones extra tight today,
as we think of those who cannot.
Cherish each moment.
Soak it in.
Place it in your heart forever.

The Potter and The Clay.

My weekend was so full!
It was a nonstop ball of fun..and it started off with this...
A little mud fight with my two cousins.
It made me feel like a kid again.
I think the best way to relate to kids, is to be one.
My aunt had warned me that they would have me in the mud, and it was no lie.
I don't mind getting a little dirty as long as I get to spend quality time with my family.
It was well worth the sacrifice of getting my clean and washed hair drenched in mud.
....
Sometimes we have to make sacrifices
in order to reach what we have better waiting for us on the other side.
What did I get?
Memories.
.....
And when my little cousin started molding the mud on my face,
it was like the potter and the clay.
God is the potter.
We are the clay.
If we allow ourselves to be putty,
He can mold us and shape us into one beautiful masterpiece!

Isaiah 64:8
Yet you, Lord, are our father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.

So Much To Do, So Little Time.

I thought I would end this week with a few fun Friday facts (say that five times fast!).
There is an endless list of things I would love to do,
but these are my top...not in any particular order.

I have never ice skated!..and want to. Seems a logical thing to go do in May, yes?

Along the same line, I want to snow ski. Nope never have... even though I'm sure I would not be the most graceful person to ever hit the slopes.

I've never ate sushi and want to try it, just once. But I don't even like catfish..
East Tx probably disowns me for this.

I know have mentioned this before, but I really want to visit the Holy Lands...
everyone keeps telling me it will not happen in my lifetime, "too dangerous", but trust me,
it's happening.

I want and will meet George W. Bush before I die...or before he dies, I should say.
He seems like a down to earth guy that I could have a glass of sweet tea with on my front porch.
And plus he was President, which is pretty cool.

I want to go skydiving...I've flown a plane, but never jumped out of one!

I want to see a huge waterfall and swim beneath it. Can you imagine how magical that would be?

I want to do a triathlon ..a completely different ball game from running marathons, but it just seems like the next best thing.

I want to take off a whole week and spend it out in nature. I don't care where, the beach, the mountains, where ever. Just as long as there is no cell service or technology whatsoever.
I'll most likely have to do that with someone, for safety reasons of course.
Any takers?

I want to go to Italy and jump into one of their fountains. Random?
I don't even care if I get in trouble.
I've seen so many people do it and it just seems like an intriguing and fun thing to do, right?

So there is just a few snip-its of the things I plan on accomplishing sooner rather than later.

A big thanks to all the sweet comments I've received in emails this week!
I hope y'all have an incredibly beautiful weekend!

Baring It All.

A face,
 baring it all.
No makeup,
just me..
I like it...
Just wearing the face I have been given.
Because I understand it does not define who I am,
..and definitely not what lies in my heart.
I am not denying that I like to wear makeup, what girl doesn't?
I just don't want it to hide the real me..
....
Who defines beauty, anyway?
Surely not the media,
and definitely not the magazines?...
No, He defines beauty.
....
I think if our hearts really did determine our outer appearance,
how would it change how we lived?
Would we want to love, give and serve beyond all comprehension?
....
That is how I want to live,
as if my inner being determined what other people see.
Because I believe it can alter appearance.
I do not want to be truly loved or known for looks alone,
for those will surely fade away,
but for who I am,
and the heart that I have.
Because that's what God sees.
