Comfort in 26.2 Ways

I was expecting to share with you all the wonderful adventures of New Mexico today.
Unfortunately, I come with a mournful spirit instead.
It utterly breaks my heart that there are such cruel people in the world.

The tragedy yesterday in Boston hit home,
being that I celebrated my first marathon a little over a month ago.
What I know should be such a celebration..
a time to rejoice in great accomplishments..
has now been violated for so many.

Is there no safe haven any longer?
Can I run a marathon without the fear of destruction?

I pray for the family of the lost and injured ones.
I cannot imagine the pain they are induring this morning.
I also pray for the runner's who might not ever feel safe running a race again.

But I wish to bring hope.
And comfort.
In a time when hope in the world might seem at a loss.....

A Different Kind of Beautiful.

I just want to say a big thanks to all the encouraging messages from my new readers this week.
I could not go on doing this without you..
so thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am taking a road trip to Albuquerque, NM this morning for a few days.
Excited to see another beautiful countryside that God created.

A little different scenery than my green pastures where the wild flowers grow.
But just a different kind of beautiful.
..just like each one of us are unique in our own beaut!
It would be rather boring if we were all the same cookie cutter images.
I like to think of God as the creative artist, who molded me especially the way He wanted.

For I am 'fearfully and wonderfully made'.

Have a beautiful weekend, you beautiful people..

America..One Nation UNDER GOD

THE FAITH OF OUR FATHERS
I was oh so lucky, as you might have read earlier this week, to hear Phil Robertson (from Duck Dynasty) speak.
He spoke talked about  America & what our Founding Fathers built this nation on...
The Biblical foundation of our constitution.

So, I started doing some research..
And I thought I would share the faith of our fathers...

George Washington, First president and father of our country said...

"It is impossible to rightly govern … without God and the Bible," and also "To the distinguished Character of a Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the most distinguished Character of Christian.

James Madison, the architect of the constitution wrote...

"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Patrick Henry, American revolutionary leader, said,
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Thomas Jefferson..

"God who gave us life, gave us liberty."

A neat little fact.
Did you know that 'Under God' was not added to the pledge of allegiance until 1954!
That was NOT too long ago.
'Under God' not only makes the pledge a "patriotic oath" but a public prayer.

There are numerous times our founders quoted the bible, but this is enough evidence for me.
It seems obvious.
It is right there, black and white, written in the History of our country..
That America was founded by Christians.
On biblical principles.

What is our country's motto?
"In GOD we trust."
It's even on our money, that we use every day.

So my point is..we are always told to go back to our roots..
Where we came from..
I think the same for our country.
Let us go back to our roots.
When it first began...
In 1776..
When The Ten Commandments in a courthouse did not offend people..
When we fought for a country worth fighting for..
When freedom's were not taken for granted..
When not having God in our country..
in our allegiance..
in our lives...
was just, unthinkable.

“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; with many counselors, there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14

"Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.” 1 Peter 2:13-17

Spring Has Sprung!

I love spring.
And it has sprung!
This weekend it was absolutely gorgeous!
My sister and me got out Saturday and took some pictures, as you see below.

I love how God gives us different seasons.
He gives us change, in just the way we like it.
Every year it is the same...but different.
He gave us, summer, winter, fall, and spring!
Spring is definitely my favorite, winter the least..but to each it's own.
Winter only makes me appreciate spring that much more.
Some people might call it science, I call it God.

He also gives us different seasons in our life.
We have the tough winter season and the glorious spring times.
And I thank him for each season, knowing that each one is to my benefit..making me grow,
like the flowers in springtime!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-22
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

I had the special  privilege of taking my baby sister's senior pictures this weekend.

Is she not gorgeous?
A porcelain DOLL!

But it is not just the outside that is stunning,
but a beautiful heart that shines with magnificent beauty as well!

I cannot believe she is graduating..
and I am so honored to be her big sister.

Go get em' tiger!

Psalm 139:14
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Somebody Tell Them

What if everyone kept to themselves?...
What if we all lived in a bubble?...
What if no one spoke to each other?...
How would we know?...
Would we know?...
If we did, would we say it?
Would we tell them?
Should we tell them?

Somebody tell them.

Silence breaks.
The beautiful lyrics of the truth unfold...

SOMEBODY TELL THEM
City HARBOR

There’s a child on the subway
His story is written on his face
And the pain he’s felt, is enough to fill a lifetime
But he doesn’t know any other way

Somebody tell them that the lost are saved
Somebody tell them that their debt’s been paid
And let them know love is calling out their names
Somebody tell them, they’re the child of the king
And there is an end to this suffering
And hope that never fades through grace that’s made a way.
Somebody tell them, somebody tell them now.
Oh somebody tell them, somebody tell them now

You can see it on the TV
Or in the middle of a crowded room
There’s a sea of broken hearts, that are longing
To be washed away by an ocean of truth

Somebody tell them that the lost are saved
Somebody tell them that their debt’s been paid
And let them know love is calling out their names
Somebody tell them, they’re the child of the king
And there is an end to this suffering
And hope that never fades through grace that’s made a way.
Somebody tell them, somebody tell them now.
Oh somebody tell them, somebody tell them now

Too many times we’ve all held back
The truth from those put in our path
So let us be the voice of love
Somebody tell them now
Somebody tell them now

Somebody tell them that the lost are saved
Somebody tell them that their debt’s been paid
And let them know love is calling out their names
Somebody tell them, they’re the child of the king
And there is an end to this suffering
And hope that never fades through grace that’s made a way.
Somebody tell them, somebody tell them now.
Oh somebody tell them, somebody tell them now

My Life according to Instagram

A little of my life, according to instagram.
The majority of the pictures are two precious gems in my life, my nieces!
I just cannot get over these cuties!
I must share their sweet faces with the blogosphere!

What a diva.

Our morning ritual, waffles for breakfast.

Like her auntie, she loves some chocolate ice cream!
I rub my belly too.

Miss Aubrey Bell gets her blue eyes from that gorgeous East Texas sky.

My beautiful older sister and me on Easter.
There I am barefooted, as usual.

Sweet Aubrey at her first birthday party, that tutu is bigger than her! Haha.

'Let them eat cake!'
Every one year old deserves a birthday like this.

When we are in the mood Auntie Aeron gets to do her hair.

My first marathon with these beautiful ladies, my baby sis and wonderful madre!

A Slow Fade

It starts out small...then before you know it, it takes over.
It is hard to stop an addiction.
It might start with something small.
You allow yourself to be exposed to it, but never partaking.
Then you grow accustomed and something tells you, 'maybe it's not so bad'.
...
So you do it just this once.
Then you see the world is doing it,
your friends could be doing it,
hey, maybe even your family is doing it.
The next time you do it again..then again..then again.
Before you realize what has happened you have slowly faded,
into someone different.
Your black and white life turns to gray.
That's all it is, a slow fade.
This is an incredible video, 'Slow Fade' by Casting Crowns.
But guess what?! I have some incredible news!
1 Corinthians 10:13
says...
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
